Dr. Wiguleus Hund von Sulzemoos und Lenting

Wiguleus was born, as the son of Wiguleus von Kaltenberg and Lauterbach, who was of noble birth, and his second wife Anna, the daughter of duke Wolfgang von Bayern zu Landshut.

1525

Wiguleus started school in Regensburg where he finally graduated as well.

1530

Studies of philosophy and law in Ingolstadt and Bologna.

1533

He returned to Germany and acquired his doctorate. In recognition of his extraordinary skills and his outstanding academic education he was offered a lectureship at the university of Ingolstadt.

1540

Duke Wilhelm IV appointed him as court counselor to Munich before he had served his lectureship. At the age of 25 he was already one of the best jurists of the country.

1544

Hund married Anna Schwab, the widow of one of the duke` s counselors.

1548

The Emperor Charles confirmed Wiguleus in the office as assessor of the Bavarian region at the Superior Court of Justice (Reichskammergericht) at Speyer and shortly afterwards for Saxony as well.

1551

He returned to Bavaria and accepted the offer of the chancellorship at the University of Ingolstadt. Duke Ulbrecht V regularly appointed him to Munich as an expert in political affairs.

1551

Duke Ulbrecht V appointed him as president of the aulic council and member of the privy council. He was concerned with all important matters.

1553

Hund`s first wife Anna died. With the property she left he bought the castle and the county of Sulzemoos.

1554

Wiguleus married Anastasia von Frauenberg with whom he had eleven children.

1555

Hund was assigned with the ministration of Dachau, of Menzing and the monastery Beisenhaufen by the chapter of Augsburg.

1571

He bought the castle and the county of Lenting.

1579

His second wife Anastasia died. He married Ursula von Pinzenau zu Kemnath.

1582

Hund` s first book History of the princedom of Salzburg (in Latin: Metropolis Salisburgiensis) was published. It was about the renascent Christianity in Bavaria, lists of the archbishops of Salzburg and Freising, Passau and Regensburg. Additionally he described the history of the establishment of 122 monasteries and convents. Second book: Bavarian register. List of all life peers in Bavaria.

1584

Hund bought the county of Steinach.

18.02.1588

He died at the age of 75.

Dr. Wiguelus Hund especially stood out as statesman an jurist and additionally was

the first important author of books about Bavarian (clerical) history.
